How to look after your jewellery

Looking a bit tarnished?

The best way to keep your jewellery virginal is to use a silver polishing cloth.

DON’T use silver ‘dip’ it can damage your gorgeous gemstones and will remove all our oxidised detailing on rings.

If your gemstones have lost their sparkle, it’s time to give them some love.

Wash the item in question with warm water using a gentle liquid soap – nothing with harsh chemicals in please and no moisturisers! Use a cloth or soft bristled brush to help release the grime out of those nooks and crannies. Once it’s clean dry it quickly and well.

If you’re feeling fancy you can buy an ultra sonic cleaner, pop some hot (not boiling) water and gentle liquid soap (same rules about the soap as above) press the go button on your machine and the vibrations of the ultra sonic will shake away any sins.

Now your jewellery is looking all shiny and new its time to think about storage.

Pick a dry place, humidity will speed up tarnishing, so don’t leave your precious jewels in the bathroom babs.

We know you love staring at your gorgeous jewels but if you’re not wearing them, they need to go in a jewellery box to slow down tarnishing. If you don’t have a fancy jewellery box, its fine to keep them in your Hellcat jewellery boxes. They just need to be away from free flowing air.

Oh yeah, the obvious one don’t wear your jewellery whilst showering / swimming / exercising
